Landscape architect hailed as county's
rising star
She has left her imprint in New Rochelle, Sleepy Hollow,
Port Chester and elsewhere.
This week, Suzette Lopane, a licensed landscape architect
and associate planner with the county Department of Planning,
was honored as one of the "Forty Under Forty--Rising
Stars" by the Business Council of Westchester.
The forty young stars, aged 21-40, were selected for their
professional and/or entrepreneurial accomplishments and leadership
qualities.
With the department since 1996, Lopane coordinates the many
agencies and local groups involved with the development of
many neighborhood parks and playgrounds throughout the county,
including the county's first interactive water spray playgrounds
in Sleepy Hollow and Port Chester. Lopane helped design the
Library Green Park in New Rochelle.
Her enthusiasm, hard work and attention to detail have resulted
in the implementation of more than $20 million of public facilities
projects.
